The ban on all physical
punishment was backed overwhelmingly by 84 votes to 29 by Scotland's Holyrood Parliament on 3rd October.
The primary provision of
this bill is to endow children in Scotland with the same dubious protection
from assault as homeless street dwellers and alkie rough sleepers - when it eventually
comes into force.
Until such time, parents and
carers are currently permitted, under the statutes of Dark Ages Caledonian clan
law, to use reasonable physical force (head-butting / eye-gouging / putting the
boot in) to discipline their unruly children - and too the time-honoured
deterrent, practiced by school teachers, of water boarding kids for playing
truant or not turning in homework assignments on schedule – a set of
chastisement-on-steroids correction approaches all now verboten by the Wee
Nippy's ruling SNP (Scottish Nonce Party).
The anti-corporal punishment
/ 'spankies' ban bill was introduced by Scottish Greens MSP John Finnie, a
former police officer, to the applause of SNP, Labour and Lib Dums – along with
his own party and a slew of children's charities.
The delusional Finnie claims
smacking teaches children that "might is right", and that the ban
would "send a strong message that violence is never acceptable in any
setting".
(Hmmm, tell that to the US
Deep State trans-national military machine).
Finnie further stated there
was irrefutable evidence that physical punishment damages children, is not an
effective form of discipline and can escalate into physical abuse.
The ban was opposed by the
Scottish Tory Nasty Party, who claimed the bill was 'a shitty piece of
legislation' that risks criminalising 'good parents' for using 'reasonable
chastisement' (ie: a swift kicking) to discipline unruly sprogs.
As to Holyrood's flawed
Named Nonce Bill - this came to a humiliating head in July 2016, when the UK's Supreme
Court judges ruled against it.
While they opined that the overall
aims of the bill appeared to bear an air of legitimacy, and the intentions
benign, they raised concerns about specific parts of the fatally-flawed
mandatory named person scheme – specifically the fact such posed to undermine
parental authority and breach privacy – and posed to present a recruitment
drive for kiddie fiddling nonces and other generalised perverts.
Quite typical of past
Holyrood incompetence, the 'authoritative' draft code of practice for named
persons contained zero mention of them being prohibited from engaging in sexual

provisions breached rights to privacy and a family life under the European
Convention on Human Rights, so were 'beyond the legislative competency of the
